My
Plans To Build My
Next Shed
I’ve
been looking to
build a shed at my
home but I
didn’t know where
to start. I’m a machine shop guy and I’ve put together one of
those sheet metal buildings before but unfortunately that shed didn’t
last too long before rusting out beyond use. The cost was low enough
but I was looking for something a bit more durable and
attractive this time
around.
The shed in it's better days it’s since been scrapped
My
options were to buy one of those pre-built barns
you see at the home improvement centers and have it shipped to me,
hire someone to build one for me or build it myself.
I
chose to build one
myself because it seemed the most economical of my options and I’d
have the pride of building it myself. I could also make it match my
house in both style and color. I could make it the size I wanted. I
had an old concrete pad on the property that would make a great place
to put it. I was 25 years old and not in the best shape but good
enough for my needs.
It
would house my lawn equipment, bikes and other stuff allowing me to
have my space back in my garage.
25 year old pad from a long gone out building should make a great
site
I
have zero woodworking
skills or experience
so I needed a plan. I
saw plans online that promised
you can build an amazing shed in a weekend. However, I
would need to have a
detailed
plan for the project. Unfortunately, though, most of
the free and paid
shed plans I
found won’t help you
(if
your like me).
I did find plans to
fit the bill though.
